Heal childhood wounds gently.
Emotions that we have to deal with as adults, started at a much younger age. When we feel unseen, criticised, ignored or unsafe as children, it can work its way into our mind, body and actions in our current lives.
When you're able to see these early experiences with compassion and not judgment, you're in the process of healing your inner child. Knowing more of the cause of these emotions will help you become aware of the healing of the wounds that still have to heal from childhood and give yourself what you may not have received then. .
Understand your childhood emotional patterns.
Emotional patterns can manifest in our adult lives without us realizing it, from childhood. You might feel like you’re trying to please others, you may be afraid of being rejected, you may be closed, you may give too much information, or have a difficult time asking for what you need.
These experiences that have occurred in childhood are not weaknesses. These are the methods of being safe that you have acquired. Once you're able to see and feel this with more clarity you'll be able to get to the bottom of your emotional triggers, understand why some moments hurt so badly and how to respond with more awareness.
Break old patterns and let go.
When we don't understand old patterns repeat them. A little comment, a little silence or a change of someone's tone can restore a feeling of yesteryear.
Changing old patterns does not have to mean a complete change in overnight. It starts by noticing, pausing and selecting another way to respond one moment at a time! This will provide space over time to let go of emotional load carried for years.
Begin your journey of emotional healing.
Emotional healing comes from listening to yourself with patience, in time. It means recognising your emotions, understanding the emotions, and allowing yourself to respond to your emotions in a caring way.
Self-healing develops with awareness, boundaries and self-compassion. During this process you get back in touch with your child, feel more comfortable inside, and establish a sense of balance and groundedness in your life.
Questions are often where healing begins.
Here are some responses that will help you to better understand inner child healing, how the work unfolds, and if you might be a good fit for this space.
